Who We Are
XP Gained is a gaming news and patch notes site built for players who want the facts without the fluff. Founded by Nathan Lees, a UK-based gaming journalist and lifelong gamer, the site exists for one reason: to get you the information you need so you can get back to playing.
What We Cover
We track patch notes for over 160 games, publish breaking gaming news, and write guides that actually help. Whether a major balance update just dropped for your favourite live-service game or a new title was announced out of nowhere, we aim to have it covered quickly and accurately.
- Breaking gaming news — announcements, reveals, industry developments
- Patch notes — detailed breakdowns for 160+ games, published as soon as updates go live
- Game guides — practical, no-nonsense guides written to solve real problems
Our Approach
Speed matters in gaming news, but accuracy matters more. We prioritise getting things right over getting things first. Every article is checked against primary sources — official developer posts, press releases, and in-game verification where possible.
We use AI-assisted tools as part of our editorial workflow to help with research, drafting, and formatting. Every piece of content is reviewed, edited, and approved by a human editor before it goes live. The editorial voice, fact-checking, and final decisions are always human.
About the Founder
Nathan Lees started XP Gained to fill a gap he kept running into as a player — finding reliable patch notes and news without having to wade through clickbait or wait for bigger outlets to get around to covering smaller titles.
