Eleventh Hour Games pushed Hotfix 1.4.0.1 for Last Epoch today, and the headline fix is a nasty one: the Vision of the Observer boss fight could become completely uncompletable if you burned through the Shade too fast, locking both the Shade and an Omen into an invulnerable state simultaneously. For a game built around pushing damage numbers, that's a rough bug to ship.
Beyond that, the hotfix corrects the boss's health reduction miscalculating on phase-threshold hits, stops Omens from taking damage before they've fully emerged, and clears up the Shade's persistent red outline. There's also a fix for players who rebound their interaction key finding they couldn't pick up items at all, which is the kind of thing that would absolutely ruin a session.
One issue is still outstanding: a bug blocking campaign progress after the crafting tutorial. Eleventh Hour Games notes on the forum that a potential workaround is returning to the previous zone and coming back, and a proper fix is planned for tomorrow's update. Full patch notes below.

- Fixed a bug that prevented items from being picked up if the interaction button had been changed.
- Possible fix for disconnects on joining a new server.
NOTE
We are aware of an issue preventing players from moving forward in the campaign after the crafting tutorial. A possible fix is to go back to the previous zone then return. The door may be open. We have a potential fix for this that we plan to release with tomorrow’s update.
