Blizzard has posted the 2.6.1 patch notes for Diablo 4, with the update going live across all platforms on March 24. The headliner is a significant difficulty reduction for Bloodsoaked Sigils. The developer note is pretty candid about it: many players simply couldn't complete them after unlocking them, which is a problem worth fixing fast.
Beyond that, the Butcher in the Fields of Hatred gets a substantial health increase, and Kael Rills' Butcher shop in Gea Kul now has a stash and blacksmith on-site. That second one sounds minor but anyone who's been running back to town mid-session will appreciate it immediately. On the bug side, the patch addresses a Druid Willpower issue where the Kill Streak Core Resource affix wasn't granting the right stat, invisible Butcher attacks on low settings, and a local co-op camera bug that triggered when both players transformed into the Butcher simultaneously.
Tower bosses Thuneros and Herald of Darkness also had their health corrected after shipping with far less than intended. Credit where it's due: Blizzard has been patching Season of Slaughter at a reasonable pace. Full patch notes below.
Game Updates
- Reduced the difficulty of Bloodsoaked sigils significantly.
Developer’s Note: We've received feedback that many players cannot reasonably complete Bloodsoakeded Sigils after unlocking them. By lowering the difficulty significantly, we hope to guarantee that all players who have earned access to Bloodsoaked content have a better chance of success.
- A stash and blacksmith have been added to Kael Rills' Butcher shop to allow players to Salvage and store items without having to travel back and forth in Gea Kul.
- Instances of the Butcher in the Fields of Hatred now have significantly more health.
