Borderlands 4's March 19 minor update is about as small as patches get. According to the official Steam patch notes, the only mechanical change is a refreshed set of Weekly Activities. That's it.

But buried in those notes is the real headline. Gearbox has confirmed that Story Pack 1: Mad Ellie and the Vault of the Damned is landing next week, and it's bringing a level cap increase of 10 levels for all players. That second part matters more than it might sound. A level cap raise means new build headroom, new synergies to find, and a reason to go back to characters you thought were finished. Whether the new story content delivers is another question, but the build tinkering alone will keep the theorycrafters busy for a while.

For now, this update is just keeping the weekly loop ticking over. Full patch notes below.

The only change in this Minor Update is a new set of Weekly Activities.

Next week, we’re excited to bring you Story Pack 1: Mad Ellie and the Vault of the Damned*! Along with the new content, we are also raising the level cap by 10 levels for all players. The team is looking forward to seeing your new builds and synergies as you take on the new content.

Please note: Story Pack 1 and the accompanying Major Update (v 1.5) will launch at 1:00PM PT / 3:00 PM CT / 4:00PM ET next Thursday, March 26, shortly after the Gearbox Main Theater Show at PAX East starting at 11:30AM PT / 1:30 PM CT / 2:30PM ET. This Major Update is approximately 20GB and all players will need to download it.

Please restart your game to ensure that the update goes through and to prevent connection errors in matchmaking.

*Mad Ellie and the Vault of the Damned is the first of two post-launch DLC Story Packs coming to Borderlands 4. This content is included with Borderlands 4 Super Deluxe Edition and the Borderlands 4 Vault Hunter Pack, and is also available for separate purchase. Base game required.
